Honor and Glory
It is late morning on Sunday, April 14th, 1912. The White Star liner R.M.S. Titanic races west across the North Atlantic en route to New York. Luncheon is being prepared, and there is a brisk 20-knot northwesterly breeze. In roughly 12 hours, the ship will have her fatal encounter with an iceberg. She will sink in 2 hours and 40 minutes, and 1,496 souls will be lost.
Her sinking would stun the world, as she had been dubbed - among other names - "practically unsinkable." The disaster marked the beginning of the end of an era where mankind - in their arrogance - trusted all too much in the works of their own hands. The world would never be the same.
